Claratyne is the brand name of Loratadine, and is the same as Claritin sold in the US.
Claratyne relieves symptoms associated with perennial and seasonal allergies: such as sneezing, nasal discharge and itching, as well as itching and burning of the eyes.
Claratyne tablets are small white tablets, which contain loratadine 10mg, starch, magnesium sterate and lactose.
Side Effects
Refer to a Pharmacist if:
- There is shortness of breath, which could be asthma
- There is a cough or wheeze, which could be asthma
- There is swollen glands and / or a persistent headache - may be an infection
- There is a yellow discharge or pus from the eyes or nose
- Only one side of the nose or eye is affected
- Ears or sinuses (around the cheekbones) are painful
Directions
Take 1 tablet daily with a glass of water.
Follow the directions of using this medicine provided by your doctor or pharmacist.
This medicine may be taken on an empty stomach or with food.
Storage
Store this medicine at room temperature.
Keep your tablets in the blister pack until you take them.
If you miss a dose?
If you miss a dose of this medicine and you are using it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Warning
Claratyne should not be given to children under 2 years of age before referring to a Pharmacist. Do not use during pregnancy or lactation except on medical advice.
